Summary
Krankheitstage stores everything you enter exclusively on your device. There is no user account, no advertising, no analytics or tracking services and no transfer of your data to us or to third parties. The app works entirely offline.
Scope of data protection
Data protection covers personal data, i.e. any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (Art. 4(1) GDPR). Information about sick days and illnesses is health data and belongs to the special categories of personal data (Art. 9 GDPR).
What data the app processes
The app only processes the information you enter yourself:
- the periods of your sick days and optional notes (e.g. the type of illness)
- the date of your last BEM meeting
- settings such as workdays, federal state, language and appearance
This data is stored and evaluated only in the local storage of the app or your browser on your device. We as the provider have no access to it. If you uninstall the app or delete the app or browser data, your entries are deleted as well.
No automatic data collection
The app itself does not connect to the internet. No usage or device data, access times, IP addresses or crash reports are transmitted to us. The app uses no cookies, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
Backup (export and import)
With the backup function you can export your data as a file. This only happens when you trigger it yourself. If you wish, the file is encrypted with a password (AES-256); without a password, anyone who opens it can read it. You decide where to store or send the backup (e.g. cloud storage, email or messenger); the privacy policy of the respective provider applies there. Please keep in mind that the backup contains health data. Your entries are excluded from the automatic Google backup of your Android device, so please use this backup function when you switch phones.
App lock
If you turn on the app lock, the app asks for your fingerprint, face recognition or device PIN when it opens. The check is performed by your device's operating system; the app receives no biometric data, only the information whether unlocking succeeded. In addition, the app prevents screenshots (Android) or hides its content during screen recordings and in the app switcher (iPhone).
Web version
Krankheitstage is also available as a web version at krankheitstage.com/app. It is loaded once from our website and cached in the browser so that it works without internet afterwards. When it is loaded, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data such as the IP address (see the website's privacy policy). In the web version, too, your entries are stored only locally in your browser. So that we can see how often the web version is used, it loads an invisible image from our server when opened; only the date and the fact that it was opened are counted – without cookies, without storing the IP address and without your entries. The Android and iPhone apps do not count anything. The web version has no app lock and no protection against screenshots.
Links and calendar
Links to legal texts and information pages (e.g. gesetze-im-internet.de or bmas.de) open in your browser. The calendar button of an entry opens – only at your request – your device's calendar app or Google Calendar with the date and note of the entry. The respective providers are responsible for these services and their privacy policies apply.
App stores
When you download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google process data according to their own privacy policies. We have no influence on this.
Your rights
Since we do not receive or store any personal data from you, your data remains solely with you: you can view, change and delete it in the app at any time. Regardless of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
Disclaimer
The app is intended for guidance only and does not replace legal advice. No guarantee is given for the timeliness, accuracy, completeness or quality of the information and calculations provided. Liability claims for material or immaterial damage caused by the use or non-use of the information provided or by incorrect or incomplete information are excluded, unless there is intent or gross negligence. This does not affect liability for injury to life, body or health.
